My buddy and I are going to play every state before we die. At least that's the plan. Each year we do a multi-state trip. For the June 2013 trip we are flying into Omaha to play Nebraska and Iowa and then driving to Kansas City to play Kansas and Missouri. We are interested in playing only 4 or 5 star courses (in your opinion) and would like suggestions from local area players. Can anybody help? Thanks. Peter

You're ever so slightly too far East for me to help. Played anywhere in Colorado before?

Have not played Colorado yet. Probably a couple of years off.

In Kansas City play the The National and Shadow Glenn. Both are private so you'll have to have your pro call for you. Also Prairie Dunes in Hutchison

If you looking for public in KC then my favorites are : Sycamore Ridge in Olathe, Ks, Prairie Highlands Olathe, Ks, Winterstone Golf in Independence, Mo and Adams Point in Independence, Mo

Tiburon and Eagle Run are two decent municipal/public courses. The good courses are all private.

Jim, Great information, thanks. David - have you heard of Quarry Oaks? It looks good online and is not too far out of Omaha. Thanks.

Old topic...but...Top Courses in Nebraska Area and I think Omaha has better courses then KC. Granted I'm a new golfer but I have been to a lot of courses on both and lost a lot of balls in both areas!!!

Omaha:
Players Club - Private - Hard to get in.
Omaha Country Club - Private - Very Hard to get in. Probably one if not the best course in the midwest.
Tiburion - Probably only a 3 star course but it's a wonderful course.
Quarry Oaks - Another amazing course with some fun holes! Right by the Air and Space Museum outside of town, so it's a bit of a jaunt.

Nebraska City has some wonderful courses:
Arbor Links - Semi-Private - Have to stay at the hotel/resort to golf there.
Table Creek - a semi-links style course. More of a 3 star but a nice place none the less!

Kearny has a wonderful course called Avari Dunes I think was the name. It's very nice as well.

I've been given the option to play Prairie Dunes from a local who has a membership, I said I want to get better first. It's going to be a treat once I get better swinging the sticks!

The best course in Nebraska (public) is Wild Horse Golf Club in Gothenburg. Golf Magazine ranks it one of the best you can play. Its my favorite course within a couple hundred miles. Problem...its in the middle of no where hours from Omaha, but worth the drive.
