Make the site better...I understand growing pains...but I expect better; not deminished capabilities. To be the best golfing social network; you can not limit access and expect folks to continue to use it. Some of the things I have encountered since the 4 Mar maintenance update are, but is not limited to: not having blog capability, not able to setup play days, my photo selection not available under the photo tab/dropdown, my blogs in not available under the blog tab/dropdown, and group search brings up ten (10) groups with my groups info...but they have varing member totals (see for yourself...goto the group search...then input zip code 78244). Get the site back to full access immediately. Let's have improvements, but not at the expense full access. Deminished capabilities is not the answer...it is not better!

For that matter, we can't post scores for the last 5 or so days. Not good. Arizona golf courses only shows up to Q. Anything searched beyond that will not come up. It is not looking good right now, as it appears less activity on the site as well. Upgrades are necessary but lets get them right. We are paying a membership.

Also noticed that the site is considerably slower and the pictures are distorted, they look stretched.

No, it's not better.
I use the site mainly as a place to keep stats. Having to use a calculator to figure my GIR and fairways hit is not fun. And the putts per GIR no longer works. I'm sure the site administrators had the best of intentions, but I don't get what the changes were for. The site was about perfect before. Why screw with a good thing? |

Short answer: No--at least not yet. This is like Windows 2.0 when it was in Beta. It's not an update either. This is a whole new implementation. This is all new code. Not sure exactly why a new implementation was needed, I think I heard some very general comment about making it compatible with some other database or site. I suspect from the comments I've heard from the administrators that this is a whole new database schema too. So all the data had to be exported and imported into the new database too.
On top of this, they've obviously decided to make some functional changes that seem to be getting mixed reviews and it's not clear to me how much, if any user input they got. I know they did a TERRIBLE job at informing WE the paid customers of what they were up to and what we should expect . . . and to me that's the worst sin of all. Why would you NOT want to manage user expectations??? Not telling us what is going on is amateur hour to the extreme. It's a shame, because I and many others would really like this site to succeed. |

Can't use the mobile app, and you have to click "forums" 2 or 3 times to get the correct up-to-date forum topics.
Whoever made this change did a terrific job ruining what was a fairly smooth-running site. |
