I found an article about a man who shot two in the same round, odds are 67 million to one... It got me wondering how many golfers have ever actually shot a hole in one? I've been within three feet, but never aced one. Check out the article and if you like it, feel free to digg it :) |

Never seen one, never hit one, but with odds like that maybe I'll put a couple of dollars on myself to do it! Furthest I've holed out from was about 50 yards (for birdie following a truly terrible 2nd on a par 4).

I got my first last month a 165 yarder.Yes sir I posted it here on Stracka.It was witnessed by 2 golfing partners and I was relieved I got that monkey of my back however read on:The course I was playing is a fairly nice course,but after informing them of the Ace it was like pulling teeth to get recognized for the accomplishment.After 2 complaints about having it posted in the paper like the other area courses do they called me and I for the 3rd time gave them the info.They said my name would be listed on a plaque along with others with a Hole In One.As of this date going on 2 months nothing.This has been a let down after the ace as most play a lifetime without it.After a recent operation Ive now lost the most of the use of 1 eye so my better days of golf may be over,The operation was performed 2 days after the ace.Im wondering if its the course management or just a curse. Man, what a pain, sorry to hear about that... We'll talk to Chase about getting you a Stracka plaque made up :) hmm... Actually, that might not be a bad idea.. Hope your game doesn't suffer too much from the surgery! |

I had one when I was 14. I thought I would have had a lot by now, but 34 years later I still have just the one. I have had some eagles from the fairway but no hole in one since.

NO, Nothing even close. My son hit with in 4 in. of the cup.

I have come close a couple of times. One in particular time I was playing MT Woodson in Ramona, Ca and there was a tournament playing that day. ( I wasn't entered) They had a Range Rover set up on one of the par 3's and when I walked up I told the guy that I was going to go ahead and win that truck for him. Well it was 143 yards to the pin and I walked up with my 9 iron and bombed it right at the flag. I could not believe it. It landed 6 inches from the hole and rolled right past the cup. the guy that was watching the hole just stood there with his mouth open. It was great. I wouldn't of won the truck but I would have liked to have sunk that shot.

I had my one and only: July 17, 2004 at River Plantation, Conroe, Texas. 185 yard 5 iron. It was awesome. I have the ball in a case!

I had one at 14 and now I am 49. I had a lot of close calls. I even once played in a scramble where I hit every shot for our team but 1. After I hit my tee shot about 18 inches from the hole, my teammate knocked it in the hole.

No, but I have been a witness to one.
During a golf practice prior to tryouts for the 2001 Hickory High School golf team, we (me, John Gould, Keenan Cokain, Mark Trumbi, and the late Dan Holiga) were on what is now the VFW Golf Course's 12th hole. It is a par 3. Holiga goes first. He pulls out a 9 iron, and his shot looked to be going right. But it bounced off the side slope, rolled onto the green, and into the hole. We all went nuts! That wasn't the only ace that day. Andrew Bucciarelli made an ace on what is now the same course's 18th hole, a par 3. I didn't witness that one, though. The closest I ever came was within 1 foot the year before during a team practice. It was on the current par 3 9th hole. I hit an 8 iron to within 1 foot and made birdie. |

122yds. PW...bottom of pin and cup was blinded by moguls..8:00 a.m. roughly, on a Tuesday morning...easy swing, felt the sweet contact, perfect flight, and BAM!!! 1 hop and didn't see it..Drove my cart up there, walked on the green, and looked in the cup....HOLY MOTHER OF, WTF, UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I jumped, yelled, and said "Why me, why me? I am all alone...wawawawa why me?"
Since that day in 1996 I have never played golf by-myself!! Since that day in 1996 it has been my only hole-N-1... WHY ME? |

I had one when I was 20. Great feeling. However, I played behind a guy in my junior club championship when I was younger, that made 2 aces on the back 9. Incrideible! I can't imagine the odds!

I have never hit one although last year in the same round I hit the pin on three of the four par threes at my club. Two of which stopped dead on the lip and the other 2 feet back.
But the most dreaded almost was this last weekend in a golf tournament. It was a shorter par 3...155 yards I hit a spade mashie (hickory clubs) and the ball landed one foot past the hole on the right and rolled right into the cup!!! I had a hole in one for a half second...then the ball must have hit the bottom of the cup because it disappeared and then literally popped out on the other side of the hole on the lip. No kidding it was devistating!!! |
