How many wedges do you carry?
I'm curious how many of y'all carry four wedges. I did for a couple of years but am now using a 48-, 54- and 60-degree Vokey with the full grooves. The 54 has just 11 degrees of bounce. I think the 60 is 7 or 10 ... it's more than 4. I recently got the 54, so I could take out my 52 and 56 and put my 2-iron back in the bag permanently. Before that I'd carry four wedges (48, 52, 56, 60) unless I knew I'd need my 2-iron in which case I'd drop the 52 and only carry three wedges. Anybody carry just two wedges? Surely nobody carries five? Or does somebody? |

I carried 4 earlier this year but it wasn't for me. Got a P wedge, 56 degree sand wedge, and 60 degree lob wedge. Had an attack wedge that I got rid of before March.

I have a Ping 58 deg that I swap out if I bring the 2 Hybrid. There are a couple of courses I play where I feel like I need the 2H on some tee shots. The 54 deg gives me a little under 100 yards and works well in sand. The 58 feels a little heavier and I like that from green side rough. Then I have a gap and pitching wedge, I think the last time I checked they were 50 and 46, I wrote it down somewhere, keep meaning to etch it onto the clubs.

It varies between 3 and 4 for me. Usually I go like this:
PW 54 degree, 10 degrees bounce 58 degree, 8 degrees bounce When I'm carrying 4 wedges, the 4th one is an old Hogan E wedge. It's actually a "real" pitching wedge, with 50 degrees of loft. Also, occasionally I will switch out my 58 degree for a 60 degree, but not often. I have an older 56 degree as well, but it pretty much stays in the extra bag for guests. |

46pw and 50aw which are the matching ones with my X20s, then the 56sw and 60lw Clevelands CG15s which I'm truly falling in love with.

I carry 46*pw, 50*aw, 54*sw and 58*lw. All are Taylormade. The pw and aw are from my Tour Burner set and the 54 and 58 are FTX Z wedges.

Right now I'm carrying 4 but only because I'm trying to narrow it to 3. I carrythe 48 degree pw, 52 and 54 degree aw and 56 degree sand wedge.
I'm trying to decide between the 52 and 54. The 52 is the middle between the other two making it the natural filler which I'm leaning toward. |

pw, aw, 54, 58. The aw is my utility wedge. It works well in the 90-110 range or close in to just bump it onto the green. The 54 is a Cleveland CG-16 that I like a lot. Best in the 80-90 range and a favorite in heavy grass. The 58 works well in close if I need to get it up over a small obstruction or hazard while the pw is the club for 110-125ish.

I carry a 47, 52, 56, and 60. I usually find myself with a lot of these inside 115 yard shots and would rather be hitting a full swing.

PW-Nike Slingshot 4D 46° 125 yds
AW-Nike Slingshot 4D 50° 100-115 yds SW-Nike Victory Red Forged 56° >100 yds I basically use my sand wedge for anything inside 100 yards. Today I was practicing a drill using an 8 foot tall step ladder. To keep the trajectory low I would aim for the bottom rung and for a higher shot I would aim for the top of the ladder and everything in between. It was a good way to visualize then produce a variety of shots with 1 wedge. |

Depends on which set of clubs I am using. If I play my Hogan Apex's which are more traditionally lofted with a 48* wedge I will also carry a 52, 56 & 60. If I'm using my Hogan FTX's which are a stronger loft with a 46* wedge I throw in a 49* (bent to 50) a 54 & a 58.
The courses I play locally would be considered shortish, playing around 6,200 from the tips so length isn't an issue and the 4 wedges come in handy. My choice is always between a 20* 3 hybrid or a 19* 5 wood. I know it's only 1 degree of difference but the 5 wood is about an inch longer and I get 10 more yards out of it so for me, it depends on how hard the wind is blowing that particular day as there are a couple of specific holes on my home course where one club or the other is perfect. |
