I would be nice to have the net score differential (as used in the vTour) listed when you click on any round in your "scores" section. It currently shows several statistics for the round and who attested to it.
I am referring to a persons score, not specifically anything to do with a vTour... Just a thought. |

They are several ways to figure the Net Score.
Stracka uses the computation for their vTours of "Net Score = Differential - Course Handicap." If you participate on the Stracka Friends of Golf Tour (SFGT), their Net Score computation is "Net Score = Gross Score - Course Rating - Course Handicap." If you participate in a golf tournament, your Net Score is most likely "Net Score = Gross Score - Course Handicap." While it is a useful number, its usefulness is limited ... and probably a reason not to add it as a statistic. JMHO |

I agree that it is not a one size fits all.
Any standard tournament most likely uses the Net Score (as per USGA): Net Score = Gross Score - Course Handicap However, friendly competitions (possibly across multiple tees or courses) sometimes need a method that is less likely to produce a tie. That is where the Net Differential can be handy. Net Differential = Differential - Course Handicap I agree though that the only true standard would be the Net Score, I just thought it would be a quick way to judge performance in a peer review. I guess, as AB said, where would it end... |

The last time I saw a course handicap determined, there was a chart at the course where you used your handicap and the course rating to look up your course handicap for that course that day. Please provide us the exact methodology for determining our course hadicap. I would find it useful. |

Course Handicap = (Handicap Index)(Slope Rating)/113
My HI is 14.1. If I play a course that that has a slope rating of 121, then my course handicap is (14.1 x 121)/113 = 15.09 ... rounded to 15. Thus, if I scored a 89, my net score on that course would be 74. Stracka has a course handicap calculator as well. click on MY GAME and then locate Course Handicap Calculator in the blue bar near the top. They are several ways to figure the Net Score.
