Phil has worn some abominations in his time, viz. that figure-hugging chocolate-brown shirt, those daft cream pinstripe pants at Bethpage last year. But he really outdid himself yesterday. Navy shirt, white pants with tan belt and shoes? Sheesh man, do you never look in the mirror?! Do you think he picks them himself or does he have a coke-addled fashion consultant with red suspenders who has a bet with his colleagues about the worst outfit he can persuade Lefty to wear?

The worst thing about it is I asked my wife's opinion on how hideous Phil's clothes were and she said he looked one of the sharpest-dressed players out there. I'll be buying her a white stick for her birthday.

I've noticed that, too. He wears age-inappropriate attire that is ill-fitting.

And you're not talking about Ishikawa, Pulter, or Daly? C'mon they make some people go blind with the clothes they wear. I love the loud crazy outfits. Keep it goin Phil. You must not be a Phil fan since you're criticizing him and not the guys I mentioned.

I don't mind some of the Loudmouth stuff but you can't wear pants like those and wear a plain, old, hum-drum shirt with it, so i don't like how Daly dresses. Ryo and Ian are just plain smooth and know what they are doing. hell, Poulter has his own line of clothes. Fowler dresses pretty cool, most of the time. Phil has his moments and then there are times when he misses the mark. why can't i think of the guy's name who doesn't have sponsors and used to wear the ranger style hats, he dresses o.k. too. help me out, what's his name again? Ryan something?

But those guys are perfect examples of why Phil looks such an idiot (IMHO). Poulter and Ishikawa clearly take an interest in their clothes (like Greenjacket says, Poulter has his own label and his Twitter feed is completely clothing-obsessed!) and have an athletic build. Daly's Loudmouth gear is clearly a post-modern ironic statement ;-)

In contrast, Phil just looks like your Dad trying to be cool. And failing. And he went with the cream pintripes again yesterday. Eurgh.

I thought Phil looked sharp yesterday. His attire, not his game after #1...

He only had 3 colors going: navy, white and tan. Certainly not loud, and a really nice combo. I liked it. But, I also like how Poulter, Stenson, Ryo dress as well. Phil isn't even in their league yet, as far as gear goes.

Phil doesn't make the best choices when it comes to clothing. However, the worst dressed guy on Tour has to be Steve Elkington.
Poulter is the clothes horse of the tour. He actually sends out samples of fabric to FootJoy so that they can color match his clothes.
Problem with Phil is that he's gonna be on TV. Not too many people get to see how bad Elkington looks.

I always root for Mickelson, but he really does have a terrible style. Not one I or anyone on this planet will copy. Those Barclays pin-striped shirts are the worst. Not to mention those tight ass pants. He's definitely too olld to look like that. I liked what Dustin Johnson was wearing day 3. All grey Addidas shirt and pants. And Alvaro Quiros. Can you tell I liked the hat? Ryo looked like he was going to sleep. He had is pajamas on. I always hate to see people wear their bed clothes to the course. One of these days Im gonna wear my Hammer pants to the course and see what kind of response I get.

Let me drop my two cents in here, professional golfers are categorized in 4 tiers:

1. Elegant, the likes of Tiger, Els, McIlroy, normal attire without any screaming colors.
2. Flamboyant, the likes of Poulter, Daly.
3. Sporty, Justin Rose, Dustin Johnson, Sergio Garcia.
4. Weird, Phil, Ryo, & Jason Gore (yesterday, as those pink pants really did the trick)

Phil needs to get with Freddy Couples and go for that style look. If Freddy says "get out of here", then he needs to look up Retif Goosen. Phil has a hard time admiting to himself that he is NOT athleticly built like those other gents.

Lefty's biggest fashion challenge is finding a shirt that will hide those ample man breasts. Bro? Mansierre?

Phil is by far my favorite player to watch, but sometimes he makes me scratch my head with his attire. His pants look like disco era rejects. The real issue I have is with his shirts. The only reason they are noticable is because they simply don't fit. If he is going for a tight fitting European look, he doesn't have the build to successfully pull it off.
