Did I miss something or did Steve Stricker just hold on to a lead, win a regular-season official PGA tournament and get NO mention on stracka?

WTF???

Especially from you Tiger haters grasping for anything to talk about, I'd have expected at least a word or three. Granted, it's not the who-cares-one-iota-November-barely-even-a-PGA-event tournament for which we seem to have dozens of posts about, but I'd still have thought I wouldn't have had to start the thread.

Anyway, it's cool to see Stricker apparently healthy and packing an early-season victory. I'm sure he'll do no better than barely Top 20 at the Open, but one can still hope.

Nice win from Strick. Played by far the best of anyone all week. If he gets a major, I say Olympic Club this year is his best chance. I don't think he'll end up with one though. He had a shot at the PGA last year, after he birdied #1 on Sunday he vanished off the leader board never to be seen again.

Like that he won ;) He's one of the good guys on tour and deserves to win. Every win to him, no matter how small the event may seem, is an achievement and he appreciates it. Good Win! Hope he can get the US Open this year.

I think there's underlying tension over his unwillingness to drop the "i" "e" and "r" and call himself Steve Stracka.

It was a nice win. I thought it was really interesting that the announcers said that in 50 years, Strickers swing will be the swing that everyone will be trying to imitate. The little to no wrist hinge that he has produces a very consistant and reliable swing. I actually tried to imitate his swing with my sand wedge today. I was really amazed at the simplicity of the swing but I found out really fast that if you don't turn through with the hips you will block everything to the right. No distance was lost but there was a lot less spin than my normal shot.

It's the move I tend to use on long pitches that I'm trying to loft ... or that I'm not worried about spinning. It works well but I've not really tried it on full swings.

I think I will.

Would have probably posted something myself but the Monday finish made it tough. Been very busy with work.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy though.

...I like Faldo, come a long way as an announcer..but those "DEER" jokes? Idea? 2 legged, 4 legged? geezzzzzzzzzzzz...

Those were the highlight of the whole telecast! Faldo's humor is splendid.
