Ironic that the announcers were just talking about him in the Steelers/Eagles game today.

Horrible news that I've dreaded, but knew it was coming. Watching him at Bay Hill back in March... it was clear his time was sadly approaching. I would have given an arm and a leg to have met that man, and I'm terribly disappointed that I'll never get the chance now. My thoughts and prayers to his family, and frankly, the entire world of golf.

Same feeling Cog. Just 2 months ago while taking my son back to college I was 30 mins from his home course Latrobe CC and a place that he still spent his summers at till the end. I wanted to play the course and hopefully meet up with him in the clubhouse but I chose not to because I didn't want to spend the $300 to stay at the resort for playing privileges. I am now regretting that decision.

I thought one of the coolest stories about Arnold Palmer was that he replied to every letter a fan has ever sent him. Most of those people neglected to send in return postage so Palmer would pay for it himself. According to his friends and family that would cost him six figures a year in postage.

The other cool thing that was shared is that Arnold Palmer has kept every single piece of mail he has received from his fans.

I wish I knew that story when he was alive.
